"Truly my soul finds rest in God:
My salvation comes from him.
Truly He is my rock and my salvation;
He is my fortress,
I will never be shaken."
Living in the State of Joy
Some people live in California,
Others in Arizona, New York or Maine.
Still others live in the State of Joy.
Many wonder how to get there.
It's easy, really, requiring no travel.
Simply, the decision to be there.
The Lord is my strength and my shield.
Psalm 28:7GOD IS STRONGER THAN MY CIRCUMSTANCES.
"But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles,
They will run and not grow weary,
They will walk and not be faint."
God always gives His best to those who leave the choice with him.
Jim ElliotBe joyful in hope
Patient in affliction
Faithful in prayer
Even to your old age and gray hairs
I am he, I am he who will sustain you
I have made you and I will carry you
I will sustain you and I will rescue you
Happy moments, PRAISE GOD.
Difficult moments, SEEK GOD.
Quiet moments, WORSHIP GOD.
Painful moments, TRUST GOD.
Every moment, THANK GOD.
Life is like two rails on a railroad track,
and at all times you have something
good and something bad in your life.
With your help I can advance against a troop;
with my God I can scale a wall."
The Lord will cover you with his feathers,
And under His wings you will find refuge.
His faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.
I am not afraid of storms,
for I am learning how to sail my ship.
Be not afraid, neither be dismayed,
for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.
The Lord God is my strength,
my personal bravery
and my invincible army.
When I am afraid, I put my trust in you.
In God, whose word I praise -
In God I trust and am not afraid.
What can mere mortals do to me?"
I present my body to God for it is the temple of the LIVING GOD.
God dwells in me and HIS LIFE permeates my SPIRIT, SOUL, and BODY
so that I am filled with the fullness of God daily.
I let the peace of God rule in my heart
And I refuse to worry about anything."
I will not let the Word of God depart from before my eyes
for it is life to me; I have found it
and it is health and healing to all my flesh.
I will fear no evil for thou art with me Lord,
your Word and your Spirit they comfort me
I trust in the Lord with all my heart,
And I lean not unto my own understanding.
In all my way I acknowledge Him
And He directs my path.
EAT what nourishes your body.
DO what nourishes your soul.
THINK what nourishes your mind.
Gracious God, help me to remember
that in all circumstances and challenges
I am being formed by your hands.
Amen.
Yet, O Lord, you are our Father.
We are the clay, You are the potter;
we are all the work of your hand.
Welcome!
I created this website as a place where those struggling with medical adversity could come and sit under the palm trees. Imagine how the gentle breeze feels across your skin or the sound of the ocean coming in and going out; as if each wave were taking away the problems and bringing in the cleansing waters of God. In times of trouble, I love to sit with God on the beach. I believe it is one of His many gifts to us where nature nurtures our body and soul.
Is there a medical storm brewing within you or someone you love? Have you experienced illness? Have you been a caregiver? Are the medical issues piling up until you feel alone to slay the medical giant? Are you ready to scream - “Stop the world I want to get off?”
The mission of this website is to assist you in overcoming medical adversity through inspirational writings, resources, and a sprinkling of humor.
Whether you have come searching for information and insight for yourself or for a loved one; it is my prayer that you will draw hope, strength and encouragement from the writings posted on this site. If that happens, give the glory and praise to God.
Many blessings for the day, my friends.

A book's a dream that you hold in your hand. Whenever you read a good book, somewhere in the world a door opens to allow in more light.
When I was a little girl, I wanted to be a writer. I shared this with an author friend of the family. She said “Loretta, write what you know.” But at 10 years old – What did I know?
Flash forward a couple dozen years and I found myself with a plethora of experiences relating to medical issues: my own, my family, and my friends. With those experiences came the stories. Survival stories, really.
Through these stories I realized God was leading me to do more and the birth of this blog and the book Surviving Medical Mayhem was born. I also love to share my stories in person and conduct Christian based workshops, seminars and talks to provide tools to survive and thrive through medical adversity.
Do you have a story?
Would you like to contribute to this place of encouragement? Maybe your story is just the “miracle” that someone else needs to read?
