Orlando, Florida, our nation and our allies are still stunned by the attack on innocent victims at the Pulse Club in Orlando, Fl. this past Sunday. Lives were lost, blood was shed, and countless tears, fears, anger, hatred and love have flooded our lives since Sunday morning.
Some feel it is retribution for lives not lived in accordance with God (LGBT community). Some say it’s an attack on our lifestyle; gun control, or a difference in religious beliefs. There are those who believe it is God’s punishment.
I do not believe that God created this evil any more than he created earthquakes, hurricanes, cancer or children born with disabilities. Nor do I believe that it is God’s wrath or retribution. God gave us free will and He is suffering along with us as we watch more and more horrific events unfold. What happened this weekend was not a tragedy but an attack on human kind by someone so confused and consumed with misguided allegiance to a diseased way of thinking.
It is a symptom of a much bigger problem. Issis, Islamic extremism or whatever you choose to call it, is a disease. It is a cancer that began as an isolated tumor but has metastasized throughout the world. Like cancer, cells left untreated grow and kill off good cells within that region, leaving destruction, mayhem, and suffering. It is an evil that must be eradicated by pin point target therapy: cut it out, radiate it or poison it, leaving the good cells to live in harmony with the rest of the world. In other words, we must remove the threat of terrorism with the aid of the good cells (Muslims that wish to live in peace). Islamic terrorism is made up of cells within humanity that have run amok. Terrorism is not about Muslim faith but about violence and control. Islamic Terrorism is war of ideas much as Nazi-ism was a war of ideas. In order for all parts of the body (world) to live in harmony; all cells (faiths, people, countries) must work together to bring harmony and peace. This battle cannot be waged and won alone – we must all work together as one body, putting aside our differences for the collective good. Whether straight, gay, white, black, American, Mexican, Muslim, Jewish, or Christian, we must come together as nations, under God to cure, heal, and love.
Please join me in prayer for those that have been affected by this disease. Let those that feel led to join this disease have their eyes opened and turn away from Islamic terrorism. Pray for those that serve and protect our nations to come together to remove the cancer that threatens our very existence.
And may God hear our prayers.
