This Christmas we find ourselves in a changing world. Maybe you’re like me wanting to hold onto things the way they were rather than moving on with our life as it is today. Maybe this Christmas finds you trying to forget this year because of the pain it has brought.
Like many of us, I have been binging on the Hallmark Christmas movies because well, frankly, between the politics and the pandemic, I am exhausted.
But one such movie, A Timeless Christmas gave me peace and comfort with its words.
“Christmas is about forgiveness, forgiving each other, forgiving ourselves. Maybe what is truly important is where we are right now – present with family, old and new, people we love, cherishing x-mas memories we have and creating new ones to share together. And so my Christmas gift to you is just this one thought: remember your past because it’s what brought you here. But don’t be afraid to embrace your present, because if you live in it with hope, kindness, and love – it’s a great place to be.”
Whatever your circumstances are right now, I pray that you find peace in knowing that this too will pass so we must seek out the good in each moment or every day and savor it.
