Agatha Christie’s Poirot mysteries are a favorite of mine and my husband and I spend many a night binging on them. Hercule Poirot is a peculiar, yet sensitive character that we have drawn many “pearls” of wisdom to apply to our life. Here is one that speaks to me personally and spiritually.
“There is nothing in this world so damaged that it cannot be repaired by the hand of God. I encourage you to know this because without this certainty – we would be mad”.
I have witness “God’s repairs” in a myriad of circumstances – in me foremost but also in those around me. I am in awe of the work of the Lord! I shouldn’t be surprised for he is our Creator, Yahweh, Adonai, Abba Father, the Great Physician and His love in insurmountable.
But it is knowing and truly believing that with God all is possible is what helps me know that God has a purpose for everything that happens in my life. Believing that I, even with my sins and weaknesses can persevere, hang on, and never be separated from the love of God is what helps me bridge from this life to eternity.
So whether it is a mundane, brain numbing day or one that is spiraling out of control with pain, loss, and ill health; the certainty that God is with me and has a purpose for me and my life is the one thing that keeps me sane.
May this truth by Agatha Christie’s character – Hercule Poirot help keep you sane as well.
